Close my account and full refund
-
Hi. How can I get my full refund? I never used my account. It’s too complicated for me. I was refunded for $48 but I was charged for another $66 last
-

Hi @milliellionair,
The $48 was for the plan’s renewal and the additional $18 for the domain.
However, you are no longer eligible for a full refund because you canceled the upgrade on January 18. Domain registrations and renewals must be canceled within 96 hours to receive a refund. You can learn more about our refund policy here:

Hi @hannahalice95,
We have no history of purchases, transactions, or billing activity of any kind under the account you’re currently logged into.
Please use the following tool to determine if the purchase you’re referring to is associated with WordPress.com or not.

Hello
It is not this account. I created this account yesterday as I do not remember the account name or email to the account I am being charged and had to create a new account to write these messages.
I created the account I am being charged on, about 5 years ago and only used it twice but forgot to cancel. This week I see a charge for £27 and wish to close the account to prevent charges and I would like a refund.
Please can you help? -
Hello there,
Ok, so there should be a transaction ID on the statement of the card that was charged.
This transaction ID can be used to retrieve the account here: https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery
In the meantime, a refund can be requested here: https://wpchrg.wordpress.com/ with the use of the transaction ID.
I hope this helps.

I have tried to used the transaction ID and it is saying it is not recognised.
I can not access a refund as like I have mentioned previously I do not know the email, account name or URL for the account.
What can I do now? -
Hello there,
I’m wondering if the right information is being obtained from the statement there.
Please see this guide on how to retrieve a transaction ID here: https://wordpress.com/support/billing-history/#retrieving-a-transaction-id
To help further – are you able to remember any domains being created with WordPress.com?
Many thanks in advance.
-
I have checked how to find the transaction ID and as far as I can see I am inputting the correct letters and numbers in. I have checked which numbers to input and see this is after the ‘WORDPRESS’ on my bank statement.
It is still not recognising and now I have to wait until tomorrow as I have tried too many times.
And no I dont’ remember the domain. It was a short story titled something like
‘Run to the hills Valentina’.
I hope this can help you find my account. -
Hello there,
Ok no problem – I’ve reached out via email to help with a resolve to this issue.
Many thanks in advance.

Hello there,
Please do be check any spam folders or promotional tabs that might be present in your inbox.
Many thanks in advance.
-
Which email do you use as I have no email from you (checked my spam and every other possible foldeR).
Are you emailing the correct address?
I don’t really wish to put it here on a public forum. -
Sorry for the confusion @hannahalice95 it looks like we sent the email (no sensitive details included) to the email address on the account of the user who opened this thread. This is one of the many reasons why we recommend that folks open their own threads instead of jumping into someone else’s.
In your case, if you enter the charge details at https://wpchrg.wordpress.com/ we should be able to help you with this.
If the charge is located using the above site, but you are not presented further options, please contact us via https://wordpress.com/support/contact/?whywasi=charged

As I have previously mentioned, the transaction ID is not recognised. This was responded to by one of your collegues saying we will carry on correspondence via email.
As I can not input the transaction ID I am unclear what you are telling me to do ? -
Ok, our Billing Support team handles inquiries about this.
Please send an email directly to
billingsupport (at) wordpress (dot) comexplaining the situation with the transaction ID provided, and they’ll look into this.
