  I want to move to wordpress.org through DreamHost. Do I need to close WordPress.com account? I’m okay with erasing all and starting fresh.

  Howdy! I looked at your account and don’t see any purchases, so what you have here at WordPress.com is of no cost to you.

  With that in mind, I recommend keeping what you have here at WordPress.com until you get on your feet with what you have at Dreamhost.

  Once you’ve figured that out, come back and let us know and we can help you with managing your free account here at WordPress.com. If for some reason you find later it didn’t fit your needs, let us know and we can try to help you with what you have here or point you to other alternatives that will fit your needs.
