Close my wordpress account here?

  I purchased a domain and wordpress a couple of weeks ago. I now have purchased hosting through hostgator and want to use their platform for a website I am trying to build using wordpress within their platform. I seems that this current wordpress account is keeping me from doing that. I am so confused at this point.

  I can see you how you can get confused by the entire process. Read this article to find out more about the differences between the two platforms:

  And since you have bought your domain here, but want to use a different host, you have three options:
  -Keep the domain registered with WordPress.com and change the name servers to point somewhere else.
  -Update DNS records using A Records.
  -Transfer the domain to another registrar.
