Close old account?

I’m trying to access or close my old account, I can’t access it as its over 10 years old since I last used it, I don’t remember the email address I used in order reset the password, so that I can log in.
I can not provide the transaction ID or the activation URL as they will be in the inbox of that mailbox (that I can’t remember)
What can I do to access/close my old account?

Hi, That’s correct. I had to make this new one (and copy across some content) when I could no longer access my old one. The issue I have is that I do not know what email address I used to create the original one. I have sent a reset password request to it, and have logged into every mailbox that I own, none received it.
If I can know what mailbox I used to create the account I can see if I can still access it, so that I can simply close the page. I assume you cant just close it for me? -

Thanks for that additional information, we can not divulge the email addresses associated with the account for security and privacy purposes.
If an account can not be required – we can set the site to private as per: https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/#if-ownership-cannot-be-established ?
And then the account owner would be notified of that…

I appreciate the privacy aspect, but its my account! Knowing the email address would still require the correct password, which would give me a chance. The recovery methods of an account do not cater for this issue, all relevant proofs I need are inside that mailbox, that I cant access! Its a backward method.
