Close Old Site

HI,
I have moved my site to a self hosted wordpress site but my old site still appears in search results. I have tried to delete it but it says I have active purchases that I need to delete first. All I have is a theme I bought years ago for a one off payment. I don’t see a way to remove that from my purchases so that I can close the account.Any help?

Can you please confirm site url which you wish to delete.
I will add modlook tag to this thread, someone from staff will help you remove your purchases. Then you will be able to delete your site.

Meanwhile you can make your site private or else hidden.
Making it hidden will avoid indexing your site by search engines.

I’ve removed that theme for you.
However, deleting the site won’t cause it to disappear from search engines immediately. It can take months for a site to be removed from search engine indexes, and even longer for cached pages to be completely deleted. We have no control over this – only the various search engines do.
Google, specifically, has an option where you can request removal of a site from their index, but you can’t do that if you delete the site. To do that you’ll first need to verify the site in Google Search Console and then, after you’ve requested removal, you can either delete the site or set it to private to prevent re-indexing.
