Close wordpress account

    I have a broken blog and I am trying to delete a category I created in wordpress. The category will not delete on my website. I am wondering if I delete my account in wordpress.com if that will fix the problem? Or will this delete my wordpress website. I do not have a paid subcription with wordpress.com and have the ocean WP theme with elementor. I may need to reinstall wordpress?
