Closing a free blog account

A part of your ‘improvements’, the ability to completely delete my site doesn’t work.

You can delete a site following the steps at https://wordpress.com/support/delete-site/
And, you can close your account (and also delete all sites under it) by following the steps at https://wordpress.com/support/close-account/
If neither of those are working, please describe any errors you’re seeing.

staff-blorbo I think the instructions need updating. There is no longer a delete site option if you are in (the new version of) wp-admin. You need to return to Calypso to delete a site.

@thoughtfullyprepping our engineers are still working on a solution for wp-admin users to delete their sites, but for now that option does not exist.
To delete a site you will need to temporarily turn off the “Advanced pages” option here: https://wordpress.com/me/account/
Once you have done that you go to the site settings page at https://wordpress.com/settings/general/ and pick the site you want to adjust the settings for. Once you pick the site, on the next page you will see the option to permanently delete the site.
After the site is deleted you can return to your user account settings, and switch the “advanced pages” option back on to continue using wp-admin.
