Closing a site, and reopening.
-
I have made a site. Now I do not need it anymore, and I think it’s time to delete this site.
If I do that, I know that it will be unavailable forever. But what if I want to make a new site and call it the same name, let’s say in two years from now, can I do that?
Or is it possible to stop publishing it and republish it at a later time. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You could potentially use the same name in a couple of years, but there’s no guarantee that the domain name would be available. In my opinion, your best bet would be to make your site private. Then, you could hold onto your free wordpress.com domain name and existing work until you decide to make it public again (if you choose to do so).
Here’s more on privacy settings: https://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/#site-visibility-options
If you’d like to clear your site before going private (or instead of going private), instructions are located here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/empty-site/
And, lastly, information on site deletion in case you decide you want to go that route: https://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/
