closing account (merged)

    I have attempted to close my account several times, but your site continues to not allow me. It says its closing, but after 10-15 minutes it doesn’t progress. I have now spent another $55 renewing my site that I don’t use cause it doesn’t work. I just want to stop having this website steal my money.

    Hi!

    Before closing your account, you will have to delete your site.

    To delete your wordpress.com site, first start by going to settings.

    In settings, click the delete site option.

    After deleting your site, you can click the close account option and your account will be closed on your request.

    I’ve been trying to delete my account. I was told before I delete my account I need to delete my site. I was then told to delete my site I need to go to my site and select ‘settings’ and scroll to delete site. Only my site toolbar doesn’t have ‘settings’ it has:
    my home
    stats
    upgrades
    inbox
    jetpacks
    plug ins
    tools
    add another blog

    How do I delete my site, so I can delete my account and be done?

    no it that is the site. I would have to double check the exact dollar amount that I was charged, so it may not have been $55 exactly.

  • Hi @actsrealitycheck, I’ve merged your open threads.

    Here’s what I can see on the account:

    – You had a personal plan. The cost difference is probably just due to currency conversions and what not.

    – That plan was active until October 13. I don’t see attempts to remove upgrades before that.

    – On October 13, you filed a chargeback, which automatically removed your upgrades and locked the account.

    The chargeback initiates an investigation that can take a while to sort out. If you’ll contact your bank and close the chargeback, then update us here, we can likely get the refund to you sooner. We just aren’t able to refund with an investigation active. We also can’t close your account until that’s resolved.

    I did go ahead and double check your account to see if you own custom domains here, and you don’t, so we can help with this refund as soon as you’ll sort out the chargeback issue. Please reply when you’ve had your bank cancel the chargeback. Or, we can leave it as is and let the investigation continue.

    Thank you…

    I received an email on Friday 10-22 saying the bank had closed their investigation.

    So from my understanding that is done.
