Closing Account

  I need help closing this account entirely so I can free up the email address and use it in my professional WordPress account. I have already deleted al the content on my former blog, but I am unable to complete deactivate this account. Please advise.

  Hi @mveronicalf! WordPress.com accounts can’t be deleted, but there are some options available that may produce the results you’re looking for.

  You can keep the existing email address connected and change the username on your account and move forward to use it as your professional account (if you haven’t already created that account). For details on changing your username go to: https://en.support.wordpress.com/change-your-username/

  Or you can change the email address associated with this account to another active email address to which you have access and then create a new account with your desired email address: https://en.support.wordpress.com/deleting-accounts/#reusing-email-addresses
