I moved site to HostGator last November. if I close this account will it affect my present site?

Closing your account will not affect hikewithhalo.com on HostGator.
You can close your account by following the instructions on this support page:
However, this is a drastic step and you should consider less drastic options like:
1. Change your username if you are unhappy with it.
2. Empty a site of its posts, pages, and media.
3. Make your WordPress.com site private

While your site, http://hikewithhalo.com/, is no longer registered with us, I see you are using the Jetpack plugin on that site.
It appears the Jetpack connection is broken at the moment, but the Jetpack plugin adds several features to your site, including stats, some security features, some widgets, social sharing buttons, WordPress.com subscriptions, to name just a few, and those will all stop working if you delete your WordPress.com account.
If you’re not using Jetpack, then deleting this account shouldn’t have any effect, but I suggest you properly disconnect Jetpack and remove the plugin from your site in that case, as it’s not a good idea to leave plugins you’re not using installed on your site.
