Closing an account and gaining access to WP desktop app for another account

  • Unknown's avatar

Hello, I wanted to start exploring different themes for our website; http://www.vhgarchitects.com, so I started another account with my same email address. I quickly realized I could not access the themes I wanted without having to pay a monthly fee. I would like to close down this account and keep working on our primary account. Will there be any problems since the same email is associated with both accounts?

Also, I am having trouble accessing our main account for http://www.vhgarchitects.com with your desktop app. I doesn’t recognize the username (admin_41754) and will not let me log on. Any recommendations?

  • WordPress.com and WordPress.org are a little separate, and that can be confusing.

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

You have an account on your site, and you have an account here on WordPress.com. The two don’t overlap because they are separate systems. It’s like using the same email for Facebook and Twitter. However, if your intention is to use the mobile app, you do not want to close this account. You’ll need the Jetpack plugin installed on your self hosted site and connected to this WordPress.com account to use the app.
