Closing foreign language threads promptly
-
Hi. We occasionally have people posting in foreign languages and, thanks to the information on a sticky post, we volunteers can direct them to the appropriate forum. Once we do that, I suggest that moderators promptly close the thread in question (which would be tagged “modlook”, “please close” or the like).
There are instances where, within less than 40 days, people spot that thread with a name in their language and immediately post on it without even reading our response “Please go to the __ language forum”. As a result, we have to remind them AGAIN to post on the right forum. Here are some examples:

https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/publicar-comenatrios?replies=4
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/cambio-de-blog?replies=4This would send a clear message to people who wish to ask tech questions in French, Spanish, Portuguese, etc. that we cannot assist them in their language but that there are other volunteers who would be happy to do so in other forums. Thank you.
