    If I close my wordpress.com account, can I reinstall wordpress.org straight away?

    You can install WordPress.org at your host with or without closing a WordPress.com account. One won’t affect the other. Since the WordPress.org and WordPress.com systems are totally separate, you can install the software at your host now.

    Keep in mind that closing a WordPress.com account means giving up the username in this system. You might want a WordPress.com account to use the Jetpack plugin or create a profile picture in Gravatar for your own site.
