closing my account

Hi. I recently began using my gmail address as my only email address. I tried to update it on wordpress (the old service is now obsolete), so my notifications from website users would still come to me. It said the email was already in use. I discovered that I had two wordpress accounts. I deleted the account with my new gmail address. Will this affect my website and my account still operating under my old email address? How can I put the proper email address in my account settings?

Which email address do you want to use for your christystillwell account on WordPress.com? If you type it normally, it will be hidden from public view but visible to staff.

When a WordPress.com account is closed, the data (including email address) is purged after 30 days:
This means it won’t be possible to use the exact email address on another account for 30 days. If you need to use the email address before then, please reply to closure confirmation email we sent so we can follow up with you there.
christystillwell.com uses WordPress.org software and is hosted by Bluehost — the account you have on the site itself isn’t connected to WordPress.com so you would be able to use the email address there already.
