Closing my account or make a new one?

  Hi team

  I wanted to change the username so it was more generic. Would it be best to delete the account and restart with the same email and wait 30 days or start over with a new account in general?

  Hi there!

  You can just change your username as explained here:

  https://wordpress.com/support/change-your-username/

  Just bear in mind that you won’t be able to use the old username ever again, so only do that if you’re sure you don’t want to use the current username anymore.
