Closing my wordpress account completely

    After five years I wish to close my account. I am trying to exit the internet completely and yet, when I try the basic way to end my WordPress account, I cannot get through to anything resembling the instructions I find. Please help. The johnvwxyzsmith is just another failed attempt. Can you contact WordPress directly? Apparently not.

    Deleting a WordPress.com account

    WordPress.com accounts cannot be deleted permanently once created.

    Note that because WordPress.com doesn’t want other people to have your username in the future, it is not possible to delete a WordPress.com username.

    But if you still wish to deactivate your account and leave WordPress, you can follow the instructions given here.
