Closing my WordPress.com account

I opened this site without knowing what it is. Now when I click on a link to insert my name, address and email address, it has changed what is entered. Before this, when I clicked on that option, it entered my first name (Jeffrey), my last name (Fawsett) and my email address (jefffawsett@ juno.com). After signing up and filling out all the information required, what is printed when I click on adding my first and last names and email address, the details have changed. It prints out my first name as Jeffrey C and my last lame as P.E. I want to delete WordPress.com so it will no longer alter what is printed for my first and last names. Can I do this by deleting WordPress.com?

The name and display name can be changed on your My Profile page. It looks you are already using the email address mentioned above your Account Settings page.
Closing your WordPress.com account will also delete fawsettengineering.wordpress.com and mean this address and username are unavailable for use in the future, even on a new site. If you are happy to proceed, these steps will guide you through the process:
