closing my wordpress.com account

Hi I am trying to install jetpack on my wordpress site hosted through one.com. It has insisted on bringing me to a wordpress.com area that I set up many years ago, don’t use and doesn’t appear to be linked to my current website. I’m wondering if deleting this account will help but I’m scared that it will delete my site which is hosted via one.com. I’d really like to be able install jet pack but not at the risk of losing my site! Any ideas gratefully received. I can see from Jetpack forums that others have had this problem (or more specifically have not been able to log onto wordpress at all) but there are no satisfactory answers given. Hope someone can help please!
