Closing my WP.com.site
-
Hi,
I have a WP.com site (Brigistar.com) and now the same content on WP.org (bredit.com.au). The two sites are completely independent of each other. I don’t want to continue my WP.com site (Brigistar.com). If I just disable automatic renewal is that enough to close down this site?
If not, could you please let me know how to close down Brigistar.com.
Thanks for all your great work!
Brigitte

Hi Brigitte – I just have to cancel your domain name brigistar.com and then you can delete the site.
Please note that if you cancel that domain, there’s no guarantee it will become available to register again. If you want to use it with your other site, you should transfer it rather than cancel it.
If you’re sure you don’t want it at all anymore, let me know and I’ll cancel it.

Hi Eurello,
Thanks for your reply. Yes, I’m sure I don’t want that domain name any more. I have one that suits me better for the other site.
Should I delete the site by removing the pages from WP first before you cancel the domain name?

Heya,
I’ve gone ahead and cancelled your domain as requested.
If you would like to delete your associated WordPress.com blog as well, you can do by following the instructions in this support article, which also explains how to set your site as Private if you’d prefer to do that:
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Best,
