closing one blog

    I have a free wordpress blog but recently created a paid one with bluehost. I want to close the free one but it says doing so will close all my sites and all my content. meanwhile, when I google my name only the free site comes up. What to do?

    Hello @nancymassand,

    Permanently deleting the free blog will keep the blog name from being used again. Maybe it’s an option for you to delete the content on the blog (essentially empty the site) but keep the blog name.

    Ultimately, this will be a personal choice on your end, but if you want an opinion – I’d leave your free blog up for now. Your new blog domain will take a little bit to gain traction via SEO and show up in search engines. Once you see your new domain showing up in the search engines, you can revisit deleting the free blog if you still wish to do so.
