closing our accounts

    Dear Liz,

    Thank you for your help.
    I keep getting this screen (see below) and for some reason I can’t close my account.

    My primary site is: provincieutrechtblog.wordpress.com. But this account has been closed since december 2018.

    Also, my colleagues have the same problem, they can’t close their accounts.
    Is there another way to close our accounts?

    Hopefully you can help us with our dilemma.

    Account closure cannot be undone. It will remove your account along with all your sites and all their content. You will not be able to open a new WordPress.com account using the same email address for 30 days. To close this account now, contact our support team.

    Hi there!

    The problem seems to be that the Business plan for the site provincieutrechtblog.wordpress.com was not removed properly. There’s also a theme purchase on the account provincieutrechtblog that owns the blog.

    To be able to delete the site or close the account, we will need to revert the site to the state it was before uploading the first plugin. This will cause content loss. Since you are all trying to close your account, I assume this is not a problem, however, I will need a confirmation from the account that owns the site in question. If you have access to that account, you can reply in this thread.

    Thank you for your reply. If you could help us close the account please do so. Unfortunately my colleague who opened and later on closed our account provincieutrechtblog isn’t working with us anymore and since this account has been closed in 2018 we don’t have his access info. However, there is a slight possibility that this was his access info;  login: provincieutrechtblog /  ww: [redacted]

    But again we’re not sure of this. In case this is fawlty, is there another way to help us close the account?

    You can use those credentials to try and log in to that account:

    https://wordpress.com/log-in

    If you also have access to the email address associated with that account, you can enter that email in the password reset tool:

    https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
