  We’d like to be able to close the website down – how do we go about this?

  Hello,
  Deleting a site permanently removes it and you’ll never be able to re-use its WordPress.com address (such as yourgroovysite.wordpress.com).

  If that’s not what you want to do, you can instead try any of the Alternative Options located later in this guide.

  If you are sure you still want to delete the site, here’s how:
  Log into your account:
  My site->Settings>Scroll down to “Delete your site permanently”->
  You’ll be presented with the option to export content so you don’t loose your information->
  Delete Site.
