Closing site

  I retired a couple of years ago and wish to close my website down. I have already arranged to end the hosting of th domaine name (with Fasthosts). Anything else I need to do please?

  Hey,

  Go to My Sites -> Manage -> Settings -> (General Tab).

  If you want to delete your site permanently, choose “Delete Site Permanently”
  If you want to delete only your site’s contents, but keep the site’s address and theme, choose “Delete Your Content”

  Hi there,

  As you mention cancelling a domain name with Fasthosts, I assume you’re not speaking of your WordPress.com site at http://martinworkskingston.wordpress.com/, as that site has never been linked to a custom domain with us.

  If you’re speaking of a site hosted somewhere else, you need to contact that hosting provider directly for help cancelling your hosting account and deleting the site from their servers.

  WordPress.com, where you’re posting now, is also a hosting provider, and not the same thing as the WordPress software you were using for your site. We have no control over your site at another host, so we’re not able to help in this case.
