Closing the Gap between the Entry Title and a Slideshow

  • Unknown's avatar

    Thanks! I’m trying to adjust the mobile view to match the desktop. On mobile the page-top gap is a mystery to me, and the controls/captions are a little lower.

  • Unknown's avatar

    Here’s where they’re set for the desktop view:

    .slideshow-window {
    line-height: 52px;
    overflow: hidden;
    min-height: 231px;
    }

    I think some of my spacing adjustments are missing on mobile. I see where I can have the CSS applied to mobile. Tried it, but It didn’t have an effect.

    Adjusted the line-height to 45px, so the controls position (outside of & below the slideshow window on mobile only) works. The images are already in miniature, so no need to obstruct them.

    The top white border above the slideshow window on mobile view is pretty extreme, still. Not sure what to do there. CSS for Dummies?

    Solved the HTML showing up, with the image grid option. I think it’ll work. Still need assistance with the mobile homepage white top border on mobile, just keeping you informed. My brain’s about to slow down again when I go back on my last chemo round, so I’m working serious overtime.

    Also, I’d still like to filter out the home page for the Top Views widget if possible. Thanks.

    Hmmm,this is getting messy. On the slideshow, this is about the best I can do. Media Queries below 480px don’t seem to have any affect.

    @media screen and (max-width: 600px) {
    	body div.slideshow-window * img {
    		transform: translateY(-60%) !important;
    	}
    }
    @media screen and (max-width: 480px) {
    	body div.slideshow-window * img {
    		transform: translateY(-65%) !important;
    	}
    }

    There isn’t a unique CSS id or class we can use to hide the front page from the top posts and pages widget.

    My inexperience is showing. No more experimental code, then. Sorry. That, or I need to set up a “child” site. I’ve been reading up on that option. Thanks for helping me get this solved.

    You are welcome and let us know if you have additional questions.

    Please read the above first. I’ve been looking around, to fix this next issue. But to avoid another problem, I’m just going to wait for your replies. Started another topic with this, but nobody has addressed it. Is it possible to modify, remove or replace the loading animation in the slideshow window? Never saw it, prior to going all experimental. Also, occasionally seeing a java script message in the upper left corner, prior to the animation. I may just take it back to the state it was in, prior to making the changes, if this is getting too messed up. Is that the case?

    The mobile setup looks great! The best you could do is perfection, Bra! Mahalo!!! Aside from the above inquiry, about the load animation+, it’s pretty much aesthetically pleasing & (structurally) complete.

  • Unknown's avatar

    Unless it’s possible to add border/edge shading to the page layout, for a 3D look.

    Aloha! Nothing too problematic, just to let you know. Hoping you just start here…This is a synopsis of the above.

    1) The mobile setup looks great! The best you could do is perfection, Bra! Mahalo!!! Aside from a 4px left padding, everything was right on the spot.

    2) Is it possible to modify, remove or replace the loading animation in the slideshow window? Never saw it, prior to going all experimental. Also, occasionally seeing a java script message in the upper left corner, prior to the animation.

    3) Unless it’s possible to increase or enhance the border/edge shading to the page layout, for a more 3D look, it’s pretty much aesthetically pleasing & (structurally) complete.

    4) Have to move the upper search bubble. It’s always been out of place, as I’m not using the themes intended image space. After these last 3 requests, (#1 is a statement) I’m fairly certain I’ll be done, and ready for launch.

    5) Sorry if I’ve been a headache. You’re a cool dude, and I’m not trying to be a nuisance. I’m an over-perfectionist, who’s working on an HP laptop for now. I need a Mac, from what I see out there.

    It’s too fast loading for me to even get a bead on it. Also, I expect that is carried out with the php or perhaps Javascript, which we cannot modify.

    If you are talking about on the content area, you can change the box shadow color on #main with this.It was a lighter gray. You can also increase the 3px blur radius. Play around with it. I arbitrarily chose #333, but you can even do #000 to make it darker yet, if you wish.

    #main {
        box-shadow: 0 0 3px #333;
    }

    You can play around with the top and right values as desired to move the search div where you would want it. Make sure and check in tablet and phone to make sure things don’t end up overlapping.

    header[role="banner"] #searchform {
        position: absolute;
        right: 0;
        top: 35px;
    }

    No worries, your site is looking great.

    Very cool, and thank you! That means a LOT coming from you. Salute!

    Along with shading in the content area, I’d like to add a dropshadow to the content that casts onto the background (like the site title and description). Is this an option?

  • Unknown's avatar

    And it wouldn’t look that way, without your assistance. ;-)

    My boss was not happy with the W load image, so I jacked my animation up some. As blind as he is, he blows everything up on a bigscreen and nit picks. He’s nosing around there daily, lately. LOL

  • Unknown's avatar

    Mostly about verbiage, but he caught that W load animation right off. I guess he hasn’t been on there in a couple of days, or he would’ve said something earlier. We follow nicely now, though. ;-)

    I leave a lot of words to sift through. I apologize. I think this may have gotten buried. Lol
