Closing the Gap between the Entry Title and a Slideshow

    Sorry..Not only that ^, but the tabs on the sides of post pages need a drop shadow too. They look a little strange laid over a shadow.

    Hey, @thesacredpath. Got the tabs to look a little better, with a toned down shadow to the content body, but they need a drop shadow too; I think. Would you mind taking a quick look at a page with a tab? Thanks!

    Still would like to add a drop shadow off of the content and onto the background. Adding it again here, so you’re not searching all over

    Add this to your .posted-meta rule and you can play with the values. The first is the horizontal offset, the second is the vertical and the third is the blur radius. A negative value on the first pulls the shadow to the left. You can also play with the color. Give the dark background, it could be a challenge on selecting a color.

    .posted-meta {
        background: #00aeef none repeat scroll 0 0;
        border: 1px solid #00beef;
        box-shadow: 0 2px 4px #777;
    }

    For the content div, it already has a box shadow. Add this to your CSS and then play with it and see what works.

    #content {
        box-shadow: 0 0 3px #dadada;
    }

    Next site won’t require so much coaching. Learned a lot from this one, and you guys. Learning to apply some old skills to a new media. This is artistry, without a doubt. I definitely dig me some WordPress.

    Super, and glad things are now to your liking. CSS is definitely fun, and WordPress is awesome!

    Yeah, I couldn’t work the posted meta shadow right. Looked nice until it hit that background, like you mentioned, then it just looked like a glow. I’m seeing the language of CSS somewhat clearly, now. I’ve been able to make quite a few changes without coaching, just based on the code I had from you (mostly) and how it worked in the platform with other code added or removed.

    Like the piece of code above was missing the ending }. No panic, though. I knew what to do. Thank you for helping with my crash course in web design!!! I intend to delve MUCH deeper.

    I know I’m just scratching at the proverbial surface.

  • Unknown's avatar

    Oops, sorry about the missing closing bracket. Its’ late here in Hawaii and I should probably go to bed.

    You are welcome.

    Oh, and forgot to ask for a code to adjust the tab height and menu font when I got the code to increase the container / logo line height in unison. The logo looked great larger, but I had to bring it back down because of what it did to the menu’s appearance.

  • Unknown's avatar

    Don’t want you to miss that^, but I had to respond. It’s only 11:30 there, come on man! :P

    Side note: The guy that hired me to do this site, is flipping out over that W load animation. He was already unhappy, with any kind of branding, but I had calmed him about it. “It’s a tiny line of text, in a subdued color. Nobody’s even going to see it.”, I said about the footer info; in the beginning. Then, this showed up. He doesn’t appreciate the fact that it’s being built in your platform, and I can’t express that in a way he’s accepting of. I may be starting over, somewhere else, or dropping it altogether.

  • Unknown's avatar

    And, I am not happy about it.

  • Unknown's avatar

    @hudsonchemicals, sorry for your cranky client. Let me talk with our developers and see if there is a way we can hide it. I might be able to, but I never see it when the site loads. It’s on the main page slideshow, right?

  • Unknown's avatar

    Yeah, he’s hanging up on me today. I was hoping he wouldn’t catch it, either. Not the case. That would be cool, but a Happiness Engineer named Gracie said she was going to do that. If you think following up on it would help, then please do. Thanks. I’m at a near loss, and it’s only my second website ever. Ughhh…

  • Unknown's avatar

    And yes, it’s showing at the top of the content, where the slideshow eventually appears. First there’s some java script verbiage, then the W animation rolls.

  • Unknown's avatar

    I’ve pinged one of our developers and they will be looking into it shortly.

  • Unknown's avatar

    I so don’t want to scrap this. Thanks for any assistance you can give, Man. You’ve been a HUGE help, through the build of this thing and it would shatter my left ventricle to walk away from it.

  • Unknown's avatar

    I did finally see it after clearing my cache and then switching to wi-fi here at the house instead of direct ethernet connection. I can’t get he inspector to grab onto it though when it appears.

    Hang in there. The website looks awesome. You’ve done a great job on it.

  • Unknown's avatar

    Wow…Thanks, Man. To hear that from you is really something! I’m actually pondering the thought of opening my own Hudson Chemicals, here in Florida, at this point. LOL…Just kidding, but sheesh!
