Cloudflare cf-cache-status: DYNAMIC Issues

  • Unknown's avatar

I am unsure if Cloudflare caching correctly. Since adding Cloudflare my results on https://www.webpagetest.org/ have decreased from A to D on both First Byte Time and Cache Static Content.

Additionally, with Cloudflare activated the Strict-Transport Security, X-Frame Options etc. are no longer recognized by https://securityheaders.com/ resulting in a D Grade instead of an A.

I have deactivated plugins to troubleshoot – specifically HTTP Headers and WP Rocket – but the resulting web speed test scores are even lower…

This is a list of my current plugins:
    Flexible Shipping
    Genesis Connect for WooCommerce
    Duplicate Post
    WooCommerce
    Wordfence Security
    Wordpress 2-Step Verification
    SEOPress
    WP Forms
    Gallery Custom Links
    Limit Login Attempts
    WP Rocket
    WPS Hide Login
    ShortPixels
    Cloudflare

Any help or direction is most appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Stephen

GTAdditionally, I am attempting to troubleshoot the 2 plugins which may be in conflict with Cloudflare – WP Rocket & HTTP Headers. Unfortunately disabling both plugins with Cloudflare activated further reduced the score tests.

One potential issue: When Cloudflare and WP Rocket are both enabled the following policies created by HTTP Headers are listed as missing at https://securityheaders.com/:
    Strict-Transport-Security
    Content-Security-Policy
    X-Frame-Options
    Referrer-Policy
    Feature-Policy
    The X-Content-Type-Options is correctly displayed.
If either Cloudflare or WP Rocket is disabled all policies are correctly displayed. This perhaps suggest a conflict between Cloudflare and WP Rocket.

  • Hi there!

I’m afraid that your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted elsewhere.

Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. You can read more about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com here:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

You can look for help at the community forums here: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

http://wordpress.org/support/ is also a great resource for sites using the open-source WordPress.org software.

    Hi,

This is the most confusing system imaginable! I keep ending up in the wrong place!

Is there a link to the WordPress.org forum to submit a topic for discussion? I see the support forum but I cannot determine how anything is submitted…

    Thanks,

    Stephen

I found it! I will bookmark it forever!:)

  • Glad you’ve got it! For anyone wondering, start here:
    https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

Make sure you are signed into an account at WordPress.org. This is different from your /wp-admin account and different from WordPress.com since they are separate sites.

Scroll to the list of forums and choose the one that fits best, then click to access that forum. If you’ve got an issue with a theme or plugin, be sure to post in its forum instead. You can create a new topic from there, though I’d also recommend checking recent topics first to see if someone else had and resolved the same problem.

    Hoping that helps!
