cloudflare issues
-
A wordpress.com staff member provided the following long term solution to not knowing when wordpress.com changes ip addresses. I need to make sure I know the right IP addresses because my blog DNS runs through Cloudflare so that I can access Google Analytics. If the ip addresses stop working, so does traffic to my blog. Problem is, I have no idea what this means nor how to implement it. Can anyone break this down in layman’s terms for me? Here it is:
CloudFlare has the suggestion of using a CNAME entry for your domain to our loadbalancer at lb.wordpress.com, which should work long-term. If we make any massive overhauls to our internal network, that could change, though that’s far, far less likely than changing a couple of IPs.
CloudFlare’s instructions on how to set that up are at https://support.cloudflare.com/hc/en-us/articles/200168886-How-do-I-add-a-WordPress-com-Custom-Domain-Mapping-site-to-CloudFlare-
