Clueless… I want an appealing BLOG

  I’ve created a poetry blog about 2 months ago… and to me its just BLAH! As soon as u visit my homepage… its the most recent poem i’ve posted. It says nothing about me ! I’ve been going through the process of copyrighting my poems so I havent made any new Post in a while! So recently .. I just started posting again! I’ve been looking at other bloggers blogs for Ideas…but I have no clue how they made them so nice. Some with pictures … the colorful backgrounds…etc. I would love to upload pictures to go with different poems I post! To give a physical image to go along with the mental image from my writings !
  Any ideas ?????

  Hi. You chose The Morning After, a magazine-like theme, which I understand you think looks “Blah”. If you want something more colorful, there are several themes you can choose from at http://theme.wordpress.com
  Maybe Spectrum, Modularity Lite or Koi? (Those are the first three I can come up with)

  Each theme has a thumbshot and a features summary description. You can browse and when you find one of interest you can click “Preview” and see what it would look like on your blog. When you are ready to make your selection you can click “Activate”.

  I can recommend a tutorial. The Learn WordPress.com tutorial is divided into progressive levels and presented as a series: > http://learn.wordpress.com/

  Mr Watson …get rid of that theme and start exploring the others. Too dark for a poetry blog …in my opinion of course. Or you can just change the background…

  I stuck with a moderately standard layout, and simply customized the background and banner. If you take a look at my home-page you can see what I’ve done with it. I have a whole folder full of wallpaper-size images perfect for using as a blog background, so I’m willing to share them with anyone who wants one.
  I think it adds a nice touch of personalization to the page.
