clustermaps – is it owned by scientology?
-
when you click to zoom in the map, there is a massive scientolgy logo under it
it is not a link to their website
There is nothing to say it is an ad -
-
kindly go to my blog by clicking on heleneodette under my avitar
scroll down to the little map in the right hand column
click on it then clidk on it again? to zoom in to max size
on the right below the map is an animated scientology thingie!
its very big you can’t miss it! -
this may be from a cookie you had on your computer of the same subject matter. example: if you often visited sites about food, you may have seen a big ad on food right there instead.
I checked a bunch of the domains hosted on the same web server, this isn’t there; and backing into a block of their ip’s, I still don’t see this site.
-
heleneodette – clear your cookies and cache and then go to the link and see if you still see the ad.

Hi… it’s the ClustrMaps team here – we enjoy ‘beaming in’ on postings around the web to see what are users are up to, and just noticed this one. We can assure you that the ad you are referring to is essentially a random ad among many, part of the general Google AdSense placements that we use on our big maps to help pay the bills! The ads attempt to be ‘targeted’ to the best extent possible, but of course this is not always achievable.
Ads are removed completely for those who subscribe for a token fee to ClustrMaps+ ,
and in any event we take whatever steps we can to remove ads that users with a ClustrMaps map on their site find inappropriate.By the way, ClustrMaps is available as a true 1-click-add WordPress widget (as opposed to ‘adding HTML to a general text-box widget) for certain sites, for example all users of Edublogs.org. You can read more about this on our own WordPress blog
I hope this explains the situation.
Many thanks for your interest, and for using ClustrMaps.

@clustermap ceo!
thanx for that info clustermap team!
you have no avatar?
what about your world map?!
am delighted with my map and it’s red dotswould love you to develop something that when you put your courser on the red dot it tells you which country the dot’s in!
and maybe later which town!may i suggest you tweak the design of your map just a tad
don’t take this badly but it’s a little old fashioned looking!
[sorry, not that there’s anything wrong with old fashioned of course!]
needs a make over!
juuuuje it up a little….
like, zap it, with a little contrast it will make the sea zing.
and give it a new frame?
a new logo?
cheecky considering it’s for free!
v thankful! -
