CMS2CMS (Kentico to WordPress)
-
Hello, I have a website on an old Kentico platform. It ranks very well on Google, but it is not mobile responsive. I was wondering if I transfer to wordpress using cms2cms, will I need to take an extra step to make it mobile friendly? I would like to use all the existing content, I would just like a more modern look and feel.

Hi @howardherman2578, I don’t believe cms2cms is supported here, at least not on non-Business plans. You’re probably referring to a WordPress.org installation, which is different.
Generally though: you’ll be exporting and importing the content (and hopefully images too) rather than the layout of the site. You’d pick a new layout, and most are mobile friendly now. It’ll take some configuration and style decisions, but in the end you should have a mobile friendly site.
If you need more help, I’d recommend checking out the forums over at https://wordpress.org/support — these are the best for self-hosted sites. You can see the differences between our services and the free software here:

Oh I just wanted to note too, sometimes we’ve had luck with just importing RSS files if they’re formatted correctly. So if you have that and want to give it a go with a free site here, you’d be welcome to.
You’d want to create a site, then use the “Other Importers” option here:
