What CNAME do I direct my domain to?
-
Hi all, Angelo here!
I need your help because of this:
i bought (aruba.it) a personal domain http://www.progettocologno.it because i wanted to map my blog progettocologno.wordpress.com with this new url. Aruba told me that, if i want to use mail like (email visible only to moderators and staff), i strictly have to use their DNS. So, they asked me to send them the CNAME record for my blog progettocologno.wordpress.com.Thank you very much to everyone who’ll help me!

We don’t support mapping domains using CNAME records. To map a domain to WordPress.com, you will have to use our name servers. If your current registrar doesn’t support this, I suggest you transfer your domain to another registrar.
Note that I also added a zone record for your domain on our name servers – this is usually required when using our name servers with domain extensions other then .com.

Thx ranh!
My registar asked me if you can give an A record instead of a CNAME..could you?
Thank you very much! -
Unfortunately, you can’t direct your domain to an A record here.
If your domain registrar provides MX records (if not, they should), you can direct them back to your email provider after mapping via our custom DNS panel: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/custom-dns/
Alternatively, you could setup new email through Google Apps for Domains: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/google-apps-email/
