CNAME alis cannot exceed 32 characters, but my blog has a long title
-
Hi there,
I wish to have a subdomain of a domain name that I purchased redirect to my blog, however, the name of my wordpress blog (futuralimentairemontrealais.wordpress.com) exceeds 32 characters.
What is the best way to have a subdomain redirect to my wordpress blog without using CNAME?
Thanks
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, the only way we have to map a subdomain is with a CNAME record. You could:
1) Try contacting your domain registrar’s support to see if there’s a way for them to increase the character restriction, or;
2) Change your WordPress.com site address to something shorter.Changing a Blog Address.
Just let me know if you need further help.

Thanks for your answer.
I followed the instructions to change my blog domain name, but there isn’t even the option under the WordPress blog address to do so like
It says on WordPress support!I created a new blog with a shorter name (this tome, i do have the option to change blog name), in order to export and import. But it was only a partial import.
More help!?

It says on WordPress support!Ah – sorry for the confusion. Looks like you’re part of a temporary test group that doesn’t have access to the name-change feature on that site.
I created a new blog with a shorter name (this tome, i do have the option to change blog name), in order to export and import. But it was only a partial import.
Could you please link to the pages or posts on the original site that didn’t come through?
I’m seeing 14 pages and 6 posts on the original site, and 15 pages and 6 posts on the new site.
