CNAME mail ghs.google.com does not work
-
I have been using the custom DNS editing tool with my google apps custom domain… I’ve successfully remapped several subdomains like sites.xxx.xxx, calendar.xxx.xxx docs.xxx.xxx etc … but when I try remapping mail.xxx.xxx it just doesn’t work. I’m using CNAME mail GHS.GOOGLE.COM. in the custom DNS… if I simply change it to CNAME mail2 GHS.GOOGLE.COM. (and also change it in my google apps admin panel) then it’s fine … but for some reason the mail.xxx.xxx subdomain will NOT map to my google apps email … it just ends up on my wordpress blog’s homepage. Any thoughts?
My full DNS records are:
CNAME calendar GHS.GOOGLE.COM.
CNAME docs GHS.GOOGLE.COM.
MX 5 ALT1.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM.
MX 5 ALT2.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM.
MX 1 ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM.
MX 10 ASPMX2.GOOGLEMAIL.COM.
MX 10 ASPMX3.GOOGLEMAIL.COM.
TXT v=spf1 include:aspmx.googlemail.com ~all
CNAME mail GHS.GOOGLE.COM.
CNAME shortlinks GHS.GOOGLE.COM.
CNAME sites GHS.GOOGLE.COM.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I tried it again today, it works now. Didn’t change anything relative to the prior attempt. Strange. Anyway glad it works now.
