CNAME Redirects for Google Apps not working?

  • Unknown's avatar

I’m trying to edit my DNS so that I can have the urls on my site direct to their respective Google Apps.

    For instance

    mail.mydomain.com
    calendar.mydomain.com
    docs.mydomain.com

I add the records as such:

    CNAME mail ghs.googlehosted.com
    CNAME calendar ghs.googlehosted.com
    CNAME docs ghs.googlehosted.com

When I go to my url, it just redirects back to the main site. Everything I have searched for here is really generic setup for apps, not the domain names.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi Lucas,

Welcome to WordPress.com! Your records are set right and they’re working for me. DNS changes can take a little time to be effective Internet-wide, especially if you tried to visit a domain before the changes were effective for you (due to caching).

If you’re still seeing problems, you can check the domains at http://www.whatsmydns.net/#CNAME/calendar.bikerowave.org to see how widespread of an area the update has spread. It should be noted too that this site is just a sampling of servers to give a general idea.

I hope that helps. If you have any questions or need anything else, please do let me know!
