Co-Author Plug-In
-
We have multiple authors for a single post (one, two or three authors). There are multiple-plug ins for this like “Co-Author Plus” or “Co-Authors” (http://smashinghub.com/15-free-wordpress-plugins-for-multi-author-blogs.htm)
Right now we create a user for each combination which is strange if you have more then two co-authors!

There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.COM blogs and we cannot intsall plugins, upload third-party themes or edit templates or themes. Those found on the internet are for WordPress.ORG installs which run on different software.

Why don’t you just make each author’s name a Category and then be sure to categorize posts correctly? THen you can make a Text Widget which links to each author’s feed.

Note 1: Regardless of the theme, bylines will only display now if there are at least two authors who both have at least one published post in the blog. There’s a work-around for single Author bloggers who do wish to have a byline display on their posts.
Note 2: Only some themes display an Author profile derived from the About You information on this page > Users > My Profile http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/08/15/author-displayed-or-not/

To “timethif”: Thank you for repeating all the information I have read over the last two hours…
Thanks “raincoaster” this will work.
Anyway. To misuse the concept of categories for this simple thing of multiple authors…This is a request to put this simple feature into WordPress.com

Then that goes in the Ideas forum, so I will flag this for a moderator to move it there.

@stefferber
I had no idea that you had visited my popular multiauthor Post. Thanks for the visit. :) -
I have to agree that multiple authors would be useful, but plugins cannot be installed using WordPress.com
If you want a more advanced installation, use a self-hosted WordPress.org installation.
