Code appearing on top of Flickr pics
-
Hello
I have an issue with Blog This from FLickr. Each time I blog a photo from my account it appears in WordPress, but with the following code on top of the picture
flickr-photo { border: solid 2px #000000; }
.flickr-yourcomment { }
.flickr-frame { text-align: left; padding: 3px; }
.flickr-caption { font-size: 0.8em; margin-top: 0px; }Is there any way I can prevent this from happening?
Is this a flickr or a wordpress issue?Thanks

No such thing showing now. Please do it so that you can see code over it, and let’s see what we can see. I sometimes see a lot of wierd things on my blog when I write – when I come back or hit F5 or something, everything’s right like it should be.

Well, I just tried posting from Flickr again, and the problem is appearing here…

Thanks a lot for your reply.

Did you customize your ‘Customize your blog layout’ for how your photo is displayed in flickr?
I tried it with default settings and it seems fine. Bear in mind that wordpress.com removes css and javascript tags. It might be that the outer css tags were removed, leaving the actual css code appearing as markup.

byam, which Providence Road church are you at? Just curious.
I haven’t seen that before. Kind of weird. Sounds like Byam has the answer though as what’s there is usally between script tags.
Maybe someone could list what their setup is over at Flickr for christine, please?

I just started using WordPress today, and I’m having the same problem! I’m using a custom template on Flickr – and I’m sure Byam’s right – it’s stripping some of the code out, but I really wish there was some way to fix it!
Can you go in after the fact and edit the post and manually insert the necessary HTML back in?
Hrm.

Simple – Don’t use a custom template. It’s being stripped out because it uses JavaScript and style tags. Both of those are removed for security reasons since they would make your blog hackable.

If we allowed JavaScripts, it would be child’s play for me to login into your blog as you. :)

drmike – the answer to your which one question put to byam is here “The church’s first building was on Plaza Boulevard where it grew until moving in 1973 to its current location on 4900 Providence Road where our attendance now averages nearly 1000 on Sunday mornings” http://www.prcoc.org/

Ok, thanks a lot. I’ll try without using a custom layout. Its a bummer cause I didn’t want the “picture taken by…” text below the pic as it seems obvious it is my picture if I write about taking it…
Thanks a lot

While I can understand the need for the “picture taken by…” for copyright issues, I can also understand why you would not want it in there.
Can you go back and edit the post to get rid of it?

You get the script when you “blog this” on a photo from flickr. I get it every time. All you have to do is go into the post and delete the script – usually it is the script for the spacing around the photo. Un fortunenately you have to do this each time you blog a pic from flickr. A pain but it usually works. I put up with it because it puts the correct spacing around the photo – unlike when you upload pictures directly into a WP post.

I get this too. It’s a real pain – after spending ages settinhg up my custom template, I don’t feel like undoing all that work.

If you have the custom CSS upgrade on this end, you can add it into there.
I can’t believe someone actually searched…
