Code Block Reply
-
For some reason I cannot reply to forum messages, so this is to dhruvikmalaviya. I have code blocks that were all created with the original code block long ago, and these were intermittently broken during the new code block update. I went in and added CSS to fix, then it broke again, and I reached out via forums and online support. I put in the new CSS provided and a day later it broke again. I put in new CSS, and now it broke the old code blocks. This is REALLY frustrating.
Why not just keep the old code block if the code block is plain text? The new version emits a ton of HTML just to display text in the monospace out of box font that comes with a browser.
I have TONS of pages to update to avoid using the code block. This has created a ton of work to replace these. I just want the old code block back.
And to turn off word wrap? Come on. That affects SEO when the text is cut off for search engines that use rendered pages, like Google.
Why didn’t you warn us way in advance? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
I’d like to take a closer look at your site (shugyokai.org) to better understand what’s happening. Could you please point me to a specific page where the Code Block issue is most visible? That way, I can inspect the current CSS behavior and see what might be causing the problem.
Also, if you still have the CSS fix you were previously given (the one that stopped working), could you share it? That would help me understand what was being targeted before.
