Code is incorrect for adding little advert/click thingy on side

  I’m having problems adding a clickable advert thingy to the side panel.

  The outline of it is appearing only, and i can click on it.

  This is the code i’m using.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Oh, dear, sorry..

  I add this in ‘text’ – and when i come back to it after saving it, the second half of the code dissapears.

  Is this the blog that you are talking about: http://bobbyfamilytree.wordpress.com ? First off, advertising (where you get money for posting an ad on your blog), except in VERY narrow instances, is not allowed here at wordpress.COM and will get your blog suspended or deleted.

  In the code you have, the ” alt= ” stuff needs to go after the image URL as below:

  <a href="http://www.huntervalleygenealogy.com/"><img src="http://bobbyfamilytree.wordpress.com/files/2009/04/huntervalley.gif" alt="Hunter Valley Genealogy" /></a>

  The above worked fine in my test blog.

  Its not paid advertising, its someone i know whom owns the linked place and is relavent to my blog.
