Code to change date color, category color, etc.
-
Hello, I am building a WordPress site using the Zillah theme (child theme). I would like to make a number of basic changes but cannot determine what CSS code to enter into the editor. (I’m using the Under Construction plugin, so I can’t provide you with a working link to my site.) In particular, I’d like to adjust the following:
1. Header space. There is currently a large stretch of grey vertical space between my header and my main content, both on the homepage and on individual pages. I would like to shrink this space so that visitors will immediately see more of the text without scrolling down.
2. Date color. The font color for post dates is currently a light grey. I would like to change it to black.
3. Category color. The font color for categories on posts is currently light green. I would like to change it to blue.
4. “Continue Reading” link. I’m using the “More” function in my posts. However, when I click the “continue reading” link for a post from the homepage, it brings me to the beginning of that post. I would like to change this so that it brings me to the specific paragraph where I inserted the “more” tag.
Thank you.

Hi @bondjb, it looks like you are using WordPress but you are not hosted here at WordPress.com. For self-hosted WordPress sites such as yours, I would suggest asking for help from the theme author directly or ask in the volunteer-based WordPress.org forums.
The differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org.
I would have taken a quick look at your site to get you started, but you did not leave a link to your site, and I see you also have it set to under construction.
