Code to prevent hyphenated words not working

  I’ve always used

  to prevent hyphenated words, as was advised in this thread in 2013 https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/how-to-make-words-wrap-not-hyphenate/#post-1224716

  It works on most of my pages, for example it works fine on this page. https://dchkingston.wordpress.com/misconduct-lady/

  but using it on this page (which is also the current homepage) it doesn’t work and there’s loads of hyphenated words. https://dchkingston.wordpress.com/contempt-of-court/

  I’ve found that each time I paste in that code at the start of the page and update, when I navigate to another page and back again, the code has disappeared and it just has

  , so is WordPress blocking the use of this code now? I don’t know if that will happen if I edit any of the older pages where the code is still working and I don’t want to test that in case it does and those pages get irreversibly messed up too.

  Hi there, just to check – does this happen specifically on the front page, or does it occur on other pages too?

  The code still works on all the old pages but when I try to create a new page with that code, after I update the page, navigate away and come back to the page, the code has been removed.

  So it seems like the editor is preventing the use of this code now, but the old pages still work as long as I don’t try to edit them. If I do, I expect it will remove the code from those pages too.

  Thanks for letting us know! I’m not sure why it’d be only stripped from new pages and not also removed from existing ones, but I suspect this is related to a report we have open now regarding CSS styling. I’ve added what you mentioned to that report, though we’re still at the investigation stage so I can’t promise a fix just yet.

  It seems it only removes the code when updating/changing/publishing a page, so as long as I don’t edit the existing pages that were created before this bug arose, they won’t be affected.
