Hello, I received the following message from Codeguard.

‘Unfortunately, the most recent backup of ndx.eap.mybluehost.me failed because it took too long to complete. After 4 hours we were forced to stop the backup.

If your website is currently using FTP, we highly recommend that you switch the connection type to SFTP, as it is much more secure, faster, and reliable. To do this, you will need to delete your website from your account and re-add it using SFTP as the connection type. If you are already using SFTP, it may be necessary to reduce the amount of content included in your backup. It is possible for duplicate or additional website content to unintentionally be included in your existing backup if the root of the backup encompasses your entire hosting account.’

I am not familiar with FTP vs. SFTP. Is this something we need to do for our WordPress site?

  • Hi there,

To change your site’s FTP connection type, you need to contact Blueshot, which appears to be your hosting provider. Only those have access to the server where your site is hosted and can guide you to make the necessary changes.

Please note that the forum you have posted is for the WordPress.com hosting platform, which is different than the WordPress software that your site is using. To get help with that, you need to post in these forums:
