Coherent theme Customizer bug

  browsers: latest Firefox and Google Chrome
  description: The main menu on Coherent is hidden by a three-bar icon in the Customizer. After clicking on the icon, the menu slides out to the right. If you have sub-menu items in the main menu, they are hidden and are supposed to be displayed by clicking on a down arrow to the right of the corresponding top-level item. This works properly on the visible site. However, in each of a dozen or more tests I found that clicking on the arrow at Customize > preview instead causes the preview area to grow faint for a couple of seconds before the menu closes and it reverts to hiding behind the three-bar icon. Since each sub-menu item is impossible to reach via the main menu in the previewer, each URL linked to by a sub-menu item in the menu is impossible to reach via a sub-menu item in this menu.

  I had the same results in the latest Firefox and Google Chrome browsers.

  each URL linked to by a sub-menu item in the menu is impossible to reach via a sub-menu item in this menu.

  I mean that the page, post, project etc. corresponding to a sub-menu item is impossible to view or preview via a sub-menu item of the main menu in the previewer. Only top-level items work correctly there.

  You left out a detail that the preview also switches to the parent page appearing in the menu. So where clicking the arrow should only be expanding the menu, the Customizer is treating it as a click on the actual main menu item.

  I’ll report this to our theme developers, but seeing as this only affects the Customizer preview, not a live site, and we haven’t had any reports from people actually using the theme struggling with this, it’s unlikely to be fixed any time soon.
