Colinear – change font size in header and menus?
-
Pretty much as the title says! I have always used Coraline but now that it has been retired I’m trying to find something that looks as similar as possible. The obvious choice is Colinear but I just find the font sizes to be far too big. I feel like they are screaming at me on the page! Is there any way to change the size of the font in the header and also in the top menu bar?
TIA!

Hey Claire,
You could add some Custom CSS to adjust the appearance of your blog. You would need to purchase either the Premium or Business plans to be able to adjust the font size in the header and menus.
Here is an example of the CSS you would need to add in order to change those font sizes:
.site-title a { font-size: 24px; } .nav-menu { font-size: 12px; } -
Since you don’t have custom CSS, another option is to select different fonts in the Customizer’s Fonts panel. Once you select new fonts from the dropdown menu, you can choose select different sizes as well.

Great point, kathrynwp. I’ve never experimented with the Headings and Base Font sizes to see if they also applied to site titles and menus.

Thanks for your replies. My problem is that I run a group of interlinked sites for a school (one site for each year group) and now that Coraline is gone my new sites for the new class groups are not cohesive with the rest of the school… I have tried what you suggested but even though both Coraline and Colinear have the same font list, the fonts look completely different when I select them in each theme… Maybe the only solution is to switch all of the sites to Colinear :-(

That would be ideal, since Colinear is responsive, and designed to adapt automatically to screens of all sizes, which will make your sites display better on mobile devices.

To be honest I have found the opposite to be true! I actually just posted a new thread about it. My new sites look terrible on the iPad – the top menu has become two rows instead of one and just looks messy…

This is a better example than the site mentioned above…

Hi @scoilchillruadhain, I just replied to the other thread you started on the menu issue on iPads: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/colinear-how-to-stop-main-top-menu-stacking-on-tablet-screen?replies=3
