Colinear Sidebar options non-functioning?
-
Trying to set up my site/blog, using the Colinear theme. The theme information indicates I have multiple options regarding where I’d like sidebars to appear (1 or 2 on either left or right, 1 each on left and right, etc.) — however no matter which option I choose the sidebars and widgets always appear at the bottom of the pages. Nothing I have tried will make the sidebars appear anywhere else on my pages.
I have tried logging out, shutting the computer down completely, and then restarting everything, on the off chance something needed to be refreshed…nothing changed.
I’m using Google Chrome browser, and Windows 7 professional, if any of that may have a bearing on this issue.
I even tried two other themes, labeled as “Twentyfifteen” and “Twentysixteen”, and had the exact same issue…sidebars appear only at the bottom of the pages.
I simply want the sidebar to appear on the right-hand side of the pages, so visitors are not forced to scroll to the bottom of the page to find that information and the links…

I can only see two pages on the site you indicated. “Home” and “My Musings”. The sidebar appears to be in the correct place (although the “Archives” widget is triplicated).

For clarification: you both see the sidebar with the “Archives” widget on the right side of the page? I shut down everything (logged out of site and turned off computer), and when I go back to the site the sidebar and triplicated widget is at the bottom of the page.

Yes the sidebar is on the right of your content looking at your site on my laptop. Perhaps you need to clear cache and cookies in your browser to completely refresh or even try looking at your site in a different browser? Note that some responsive themes viewed on smaller screens/tablets/phones will display a sidebar at the bottom to keep posts/pages readable.

Ok, thank you…something is totally not right with this computer then. I just opened IE (Internet Explorer) which I have not touched in several years, and typed the address of my site/blog…and it still shows the sidebar and “Archives” links(3) at the bottom of the pages…same as it shows in Chrome browser. Since I’ve not used IE in years how could it have a cache at all for my blog?
I am on a desktop PC, with 42-inch monitor, so that’s not an issue.
I am computer illiterate, so these sort of things frustrate me.
Also, thank you for your time and assistance.

Looking at your site in Edge when logged out of WordPress.com your widgets still appear to the right but are now in two columns. Have you changed themes recently? Perhaps try removing widgets and then re-inserting them.

Turns out that the resolution of this monitor/TV will not display the site correctly. The thing is running at 1024×768 (4:3), and does as you mentioned in earlier post…it moves the sidebar to the bottom because it ‘thinks’ the screen is too small…even though it’s a 42-inch LCD TV.
My nephew came over to rescue me (has to do it every time I screw-up something on the computer), and on his laptop the site/blog displays correctly (sidebar on the right-hand side)…and his screen is only about 16-17 inches (just guessing by looking at it). So how on earth can a 42-inch TV not have enough room to show it correctly?!? This is why I hate computers.
He spent the past 20-30 minutes messing with it and said the resolution is as good as it will be, using this TV. Claims it is because it is a TV and was not designed to be a computer monitor, so it cannot do all the various resolutions.
Anyway, I’m rambling. Thank you for your time and assistance, and I apologize for wasting everyone’s time chasing an issue that was not an issue after all.
