  Trying to integrate a collaborative art project into my blog – basically a picture that others can edit. Is there a way to integrate an application like this onto a blog?

  Yes, but as far as I`m aware not dynamically on a WordPress.com blog. You may want to look at wpbtips.wordpress.com for some options, though. Panos knows this kind of thing cold.
