Collapsable content BUG
-
Hi, I found an issue with WordPress from a couple of days now.
Basically, my website (https://deeptronix.wordpress.com/) is based on the detail html tag functionality, which as of today lacks the dynamically changing arrow to the left; I’m referring to the supposed behaviour shown here: https://wordpress.com/support/advanced-html/#collapsible-content-accordion-effect .
For example, if you look at my latest post, which uses those tags extensively, the arrow has disappeared, even though the html code is unchanged.
What’s causing this?
Thanks to everyone. -

No, I have not fixed it: I have bodged a “solution”; basically, I added an arrow character (” ► “), but this is not a sustainable fix.
First off, as soon as the bug gets fixed I will have to go back and remove the arrow from every post.
Secondly, the arrow does not rotate when you click on it, as it’s supposed to do.
Thanks for understanding, hope to see this fixed. -
Hi there, I flagged this thread for Staff, but for them to troubleshoot, it would be best to link to an example where the arrow has disappeared from this accordion effect rather than one you’ve “fixed.”

Hello there,
Many thanks for bringing this to our attention.
I’ll be creating a bug report for this internally, however in the meantime, I’ve applied the following CSS:
/* details HTML fix FR //collapsable-content-bug/ AL */ summary:before { content: " ► "; }To the site so that you won’t have to add this manually going forward.
I hope this helps.

I’ll be sure to remove the “bodge” from my latest post (I don’t plan to release more for the next couple of weeks at least).
Thanks. -
aleone89 Thanks for the quick intervention. Unfortunately I don’t have a paid account as of today, so I won’t be able to do so. Don’t worry, though; since I’m not releasing many articles, if this gets fixed within a month or so it won’t be a problem.
Thanks again! -
Hello there,
As this looks like a bug we’re currently working on, I’ve enabled custom CSS on the site and applied that CSS for you.
You should see this in action.
I hope this helps.
