Collapse Menu

I’m using The Eighties Theme and I love everything about what I’ve done with my website so far except the fact that I can’t collapse my menus so that the parent is visible and the children pages/categories only become visible when the parent is hovered over. I don’t know if that makes sense or if my theme supports that kind of custom menu. I used a custom menu widget in my sidebar to make a menu for categories and I’d like that menu to be hierarchal but more organized. This is why I am looking for it to collapse a bit. Thank you for your help!

I’m also looking for help concerning ratings. I created a poll daddy widget but cannot get it to show up on any of my posts. I have copy pasted the shortcode into my posts but nothing shows up!

If I understand what you are trying to do, I do not believe it is possible.

This question is best addressed in the Themes forum. I have tagged this thread so that it can be moved by a staff member.

  • shawnarobertson – could you provide a link to a specific page or post with a Polldaddy code in it so I can take a look?

  • Regarding your question about hiding child pages in the menu and showing them only on hover, this isn’t something you can do in Eighties, as the sub-pages are always displayed, both in the theme’s menu and in the custom menu widget. You could perhaps simulate something with custom CSS, but it would take some experimentation and may not work how you like.
