Collect links of all comments by 1 user
-
Is there a programmatic way to display a list of all comments by a given user?
For instance, I can create a list of all posts with a given tag by putting this instruction in square brackets?
display-posts tag=”spiffytag” include_date=”true” include_excerpt=”true” posts_per_page=”-1″ order=”ASC”
Can I do something similar to display all comments from a given user?
Or, if not programmatically like that, is there a reliable way to search for all the comments so I can do it manually? I haven’t found any way to do this through the admin capabilities (on the page to manage comments, for instance, which is the first place I looked), and the Omnisearch doesn’t seem to produce complete results. Am I just missing something?
A close friend & long-time commenter on my blog has recently passed away, & I’d like to collect links to all his comments on a memorial post.
Thanks for any help.

Hi there. First, sorry to hear about your friend. Saying goodbye is never easy.
I think I can help you. While there’s no one-click method to display those comments, finding them is possible. You’ll then just have to post them manually in your post.
There are two ways to find the comments. First option: go to the classic stats page, here: https://wordpress.com/my-stats/ Scroll to the bottom of the page to the comments section. If your friend is listed under “Top Recent Commenters”, click on his username and that should give you a list of all his comments on your site.
Otherwise, go to the WP-Admin dashboard (http://gaudetetheology.wordpress.com/wp-admin/) and click on Comments. On the comment management screen, look for the search box. Searching his username, display name, website URL or email address should all give you a list of all his comments.
Let us know if you need more help with this.
