Collecting email addresses for a mailing list

  How do I collect email addresses from people interested in this blog? I am using Wordress as a website and MailChimp as a list manager. Do I have to host it myself?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hello there!
  You have a couple options. On your WordPress.com site, you can create a link, or a customized widget, that links directly to your MailChimp signup page.

  Creating a MailChimp signup form URL:
  http://kb.mailchimp.com/article/how-do-i-share-my-signup-form#url

  Creating a WordPress.com widget to link to your MailChimp signup form:
  en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/create-your-own-widget/

  Your second option is creating a sign-up form on your site, using a contact form:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact-form/

  You can collect email address, and any other pertinent information, to add to your email database.

  However, if you want to add a MailChimp plugin on your site, then you would have to switch to a self-hosted version of WordPress. Here are the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org:
